Our questions relating to our chosen topic 'media and the collective identity' will revolve around the issue of how young people are portrayed in the present day through the different aspects of media. We thought this topic would be an interesting concept to study in depth as we can easily relate to how our generation is currently being portrayed.
The areas of the media we have chosen to research will be the press and television. These are on different sides of the media spectrum, therefore we believe we can give a range of contrasting views and representations of different events in the press and stereotypes and images portrayed within the television industry.
